The annual Summer migration of Whale Sharks (The largest such concentration in the World) begins June 1st 2012 as the Whale Sharks return again for their annual summer feeding season here near the Top Tip of the Yucatan peninsula. They come every year to "EAT" nature's BUFFET of Algae, Plankton, Krill, Fish Eggs, & Tiny Brine Shrimp.
2 Ocean currents bring nutrients that are up-welled rapidly & then with the Suns HOT Summer rays, transformed into a "SMORGASBOARD" of Sealife that the Whale Sharks devour with gusto. While feeding on this bountiful buffet the Whale Sharks swim along the surface of the sea with "Mouths Wide Open" (Mouths Big enough to swallow a grown man in One Gulp...........BUT..............They're HARMLESS "VEGETARIANS" who are NO THREAT to Man Woman or Child. The 10 TENENTS Of Our Tourism Philosopy
1.Whenever you decide to visit Cancun Mexico, learn as much as possible about our country, it would be good to have a general knowledge about the religion and culture, the local rules and values.
2.Learn some Spanish, and don't be afraid to use it – some sentences or even some words will help to break the ice and build a good atmosphere around you.
3.Support locally owned Cancun businesses, hotels, restaurants and other services. Eat local food and drink local brands and brews. Shop from local traditional artisans and for locally made products, helping keep traditional crafts alive and favour local products over imported items.
4.Chose the activities that will allow you to meet local people and get to know the culture.
5.Make the right choice: Do not to eat in restaurants, shop in stores or visit local shows, markets that promote cruelty or exploitation of endangered species.
6.Always ask first before photographing or videoing people. Will be very much appreciated if you send them back copies of photos to help make it a two-way exchange.
7.Leave only good footprints, take care of the environment as you would in your own home.
8.Request to be served with alternatives to plastic and when shopping say 'No' to plastic bags.
9.After returning home would be of great help if you think how you can support programs and organisations that are working to protect the welfare, culture and environment of where you've been lucky to visit.
10. PLEASE use the "Biodegradeable SUN BLOCK we provide. Its for the Whale Sharks protection. Most commercial Sun Screens are Synthetic Chemicals, NOT Natural to the Whale Sharks eating habits.
